Maine Central Gardiner Station Pictures

The Gardiner station was a one of a kind design done by Portland architect George Burnham for the Maine Central Railroad and replaced the former Gardiner station which was just south (railroad west) of it across the Cobbosseecontee Stream at Depot Square. It is a single-story masonry structure, built of stone and brick, and set on a full-height granite basement. The two ends and a small loft and under section held offices and other necessary rooms (restrooms).

The freight shed also across the stream survives today and is available for lease by a private owner.

The station is now the home of the Wellness Connection of Maine Herb Shop, and is at 31 Maine Ave, 44°13'51.0"N 69°46'16.1"W. By the way, it's not all about cannabis, only mostly.
